Project Profile

Assessment of Small Reservoirs in Ghana

Duration : April 17, 2017 - July 31, 2017

Small reservoirs (SRs) provide multiple benefits to communities across northern Ghana. Various government and non-government agencies have been engaged in constructing new SRs or rehabilitating old dysfunctional ones. However, there appears to be a knowledge gap on the technical, environmental and economic impacts of rehabilitated and new SRs. The main purpose of this project is to assess the impacts of selected newly constructed and rehabilitated SRs in order to provide recommendations for effective and sustainable use and management of the SRs in northern Ghana.
